Register for a Program

Current memberships are required in order to register for any programs, services or special events hosted by the OSCC55+. You can purchase your membership online via the Become a Member page. Whether you are brand newa current member up for renewal or returning after a period of time; the best way to get started is to have an active membership.

Please note: Zoom links for registered Online Programs, or Hybrid Courses will be emailed to you the day before the program starts.


Registration for courses, programs or events can be completed both in-person and online. 

How to register

Register in-person:

All OSCC55+ Branches are open for customer service with operating hours of Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. You may register for programs, services and special events during regular business hours. 

Please note that in-person customer service is not available at the Sikorski Branch.

Register online:

Online registration is available 24/7 to view course and event details, register, and purchase programs by using a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone.

Please be advised that by clicking the register online button, a new window will appear directing you the separate online registration system outside the OSCC55+ website. 

Online registration helpful hints

  1. Prior to registration day, log in to your account and ensure all of your details are correct.  
  2. Prior to registration day, browse for courses and write down a wish list. The Activity Guide is available to view online one week prior to registration.
  3. On registration day, log in to your account, click Course Search to search by course code. Register and click Continue Shopping, repeat this process until all courses are in your cart.
  4. When browsing for courses, check “Hide Fully Booked Courses”. Leave unchecked to add to a course waitlist.

Course Code or keyword search:

  1. Go to the Register Online.
  2. Click on the menu icon and select 'Course Search'.
  3. Enter a course code to find a specific course, or a keyword to search all courses that contain the keyword in the course name or description.


Browse:

  1. Go to the Register Online.
  2. Scroll down and select a category to browse.
  3. Use the search filters to narrow the search results.


Tips:

  • All filter options allow multiple selections.
  • To see only courses with spaces available, select the checkbox “Hide Fully Booked Courses”.
  • Click Start Over to clear the search filters.


Course Details:

  • The course search results display details of each course including the day of week, time of day, price, available spaces, and where the course takes place.
  • Click the blue information icon or orange alert icon for important course information.
  • Click Details for additional information and to register in the course.

  1. Go to the Register Online.
  2. From the top menu, select Log in.
  3. Find the course(s) you want to register in, either by clicking Course Search to search for a course code or keyword, or by returning to the homepage to browse by category.
  4. Once you find a course to register in, click Details to view more information for the course.
  5. Click Register beside the participant you would like to register in the course.
  6. Choose 'Continue Shopping' to add another item to your cart, or 'Checkout' to proceed to payment.
  7. If applicable, from the Apply Account Credit drop-down, click 'apply' for any existing credit(s) on your account to apply the credit to the payment due.
  8. Once you checkout is complete, your will receive a confirmation message and your invoice will be emailed.


Tips
:

  • If you already know the Course Code, use the Course Search option on the top menu bar. You can enter multiple Course Codes by separating them with a comma and no spaces.

If a course is already full, you will not have the option to Register. The only option displayed will be Waitlist.

  1. Follow the steps to register for a course. Click 'Waitlist' for the participant.
  2. This will add the waitlist to your cart.
  3. Choose 'Continue Shopping' to add another item to your cart, or 'Checkout' to complete the waitlist process.

Course withdrawals cannot be completed online, by phone, or email. A refund request form must be submitted to withdraw from a course. Please visit a branch to complete and submit the refund request form. 

 Participants will receive a full refund if:

  • The course is cancelled by OSCC55+.
  • A refund request is received seven or more days prior to the start of the course.
  • Those withdrawing with less than seven days prior to the program start date and before the second class will receive a prorated credit on account with administration fees waived or a refund with a $10 admin fee applied.
  • For those withdrawing due to medical reasons, a doctor’s note must be attached with a prorated refund or credit on account calculated from the date of receipt of the doctor’s note.
  • Requests that do not fall into one of the categories above are not eligible for a refund. 

Oshawa residents may be eligible to receive financial assistance based on annual income to assist with the cost of participation in select programs and services. Information and applications for this program are available by contacting the Manager, Administration & Finance, or ext. 2813.
