The Oshawa Senior Community Centres (OSCC55+) are led by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors who help guide the organization in achieving its mission. These independent, community-focused individuals play a key role in championing our vision of “Living Well at 55+.”
We welcome new candidates to indicate interest in joining the Board. Ideal applicants will have experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Supporting older adults to age well in their communities
- Fund development and partnerships
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Staff and volunteer development
- Technology and innovation

Call for community representation on Board of Directors
The Oshawa Senior Community Centres (OSCC55+) is an experienced and innovative not-for-profit organization that serves the 55+ community, through excellence in leadership, advocacy, and a holistic approach to wellness. This is achieved with the support of community partners and our shared commitment to the provision of sustainable, engaging leisure programs and community support services.
OSCC55+ invites Community Members to serve on their volunteer Board of Directors and lend their skills and time to champion our vision for Living Well at 55+!
OSCC55+ Board of Directors is Governance led and responsible for oversight of the management and operation of the OSCC55+. Board commitment includes attendance at monthly meetings held on the 4th Thursday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and includes approximately 1-3 hours of monthly committee work. Following appointment by the Board of Directors, the term of appointment will last up to three (3) years.
Successful candidates appointed to the Board will drive the goals and objectives of the organization’s 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. Ideally candidates will bring knowledge and experience in specialized areas such as accounting/finance, law, government relations, and human resources. They will work with the Board and the Executive Director of OSCC55+ by applying their skills and expertise to help support older adults to live well in their community.
