How do I access the Computer Lab? 

Currently unavailable due to COVID-19 restrictions

Cyber Cafe 

Computers are available at four locations (John St, Northview, Delpark Homes and Conant branches) for recreation use, standard game play or surfing the internet. Free Wi-Fi is available in all branches.


Computer Tutor 

Do you need help using your computer? Contact the Continuing Education Coordinator to book a free 30 minute appointment with a computer tutor - (905) 576-6712 ext. 2857

 How do I become an OSCC55+ instructor?

Teach With Us!

We are always looking for professionals to share their skills and talents with our membership by teaching courses at OSCC55+. Our staff are always actively recruiting both volunteer and paid qualified course instructors in the following areas:

  • Fitness

  • Arts & Crafts

  • General Interest

  • Computers & Technology

  • Wellness

Applicants must:

  • be certified/qualified to teach subject matter

  • provide professional insurance (or be willing to obtain through OSCC55+55+)

  • be able to commit to teaching for a full activity session or workshop date

  • submit a resume and proposed course outline including material supply lists required

*When applying, please be sure to include the specific topic you wish to teach at OSCC55+ and provide a proposed course outline. 

 How do I book a Foot Care appointment?

Foot Care appointments can be booked by contacting the Information and Wellness Coordinator or by calling 905-576-6712 ext. 2847. Please note a current membership is required before booking. 

 How do I book a ride to a vaccine clinic?

Transportation Services are available to seniors who require transportation to the Covid-19 vaccination clinic in Oshawa. These rides are free thanks to a generous donation from Ontario Power Generation.

To book a ride please contact the Transportation Coordinator 905-576-6712 ext. 2878. Ride bookings need a minimum of 24 hours' notice.

How do I book an OSCC55+ speaker?

Does your organization work with people 55+ or families who are caring for older adults?

Staff from the OSCC55+ are available to present information on our programs and services to your organization or group. Presentations take between 15 - 30 minutes, can be tailored to your audience, and can be virtual or in-person if Covid-19 restrictions allow. 

Looking to have the OSCC55+ represented at your next event? OSCC55+ staff or volunteers may be available to attend host a display and distribute resource information.

 How do I bring a guest to a special event?

You are able to bring a guest to a special event at the OSCC55+.

We offer a $5.00 guest pass (plus the cost of the event) to anyone 55 and older who would like to accompany any OSCC55+ participant to a special event.

Guest passes can be purchased in branch when you register for the special event. Guest passes are not available for sale online.

 How do I buy a membership online?

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Current membership cost is $20.00 + HST.

Visit the Online Registration page and follow the steps below. 

  • If you have an existing online account, but need to reset or create a password, click 'Log in' and follow the instructions to reset your password.
  • If you are new to our online registration system, click "Create New Account" and complete the New Customer form. Please note: If you are unsure if you have set up an online account in past please do not create a new account, call our Administrative staff at any OSCC55+ Branch (905-576-6712, etc. 2830) for assistance.

Once you have completed the above or if you have an existing online account and know your password, please follow the steps below: 

1) Click “Log in” on the right hand side of the top blue banner.

2) Enter your email and password in the spaces indicated. Click the “Log in” box. Once you are logged in, your name will appear on the right hand side of the blue banner. If you are part of a family group - the "group owner" name will appear in this banner.

3) Click “Home” on the left hand side of the blue banner.

4) In the menu, on the left hand side of the screen click on OSCC55+ Membership.

5) Under the box with the blue banner labelled OSCC55+ Membership click the hyperlink OSCC55+ Membership

6) Click on the box “Create New Contract”.

7) Under the Details banner click on the “Update Price” box. You will see the Contract Summary of the membership you are signing up for. IF YOU ARE PART OF A FAMILY GROUP and your name is not in the blue banner on the top right of your screen, click on the down arrow in the box beside “Contract User” and switch to the correct name.

8) Click on the box “Add To Checkout”

9) On the Active Items pages click “Checkout” (do not click continue shopping to sign up for courses, please process payment for membership then sign up for courses.)

10) On the next screen read and click "Agree" on the OSCC55+ Membership Waiver page.

11) Click on “Submit” 

12) You have arrived at the Moneris payment site - enter the required information. Once payment is successful you will get an order confirmation number - Congratulations you are now an official participant of OSCC55+.  Welcome! 

 How do I buy gift certificates?

OSCC55+ gift certificates make the perfect gift for a friend or family member and are available for purchase at all Branches.

 How do I find out what's new?

Visit our News & Alerts page. While there consider signing up to receive news alert emails. Also, consider signing up to receive eNewsletters periodically throughout the year to keep informed on OSCC55+ fundraising initiatives, new initiatives and more.

 How do I find parking?

Accessible parking is available at all five of the OSCC55+ Branches.

There is limited parking available at the John Street Branch, though additional parking spaces are located on Metcalfe Street and Simcoe Street.

 How do I join recreation programs?

The OSCC55+ offers a wide variety of recreation programs, which require registration at this time. They are open to everyone with a current membership. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, attendance is limited and you must RSVP to a staff member to attend. Please contact a branch to secure your spot before attending. 

Please note a basic knowledge of the activity may be required. If you are interested in learning to play a new game, lessons can be arranged by contacting the Recreation and Special Events Coordinator at each Branch.

 How do I make a donation?

 How do I pay an Adult Day Program bill online?

Paying your Adult Day Program bill online is easy. 

Go to and sign in using the email associated with the participant's account.

 How do I register for a program?

 How do I renew my participation card or membership?

You can now renew your membership online! 

Simply log into your online account and purchase a membership. For complete instructions see, 'How do I buy a membership online.'

 How do I report Elder Abuse?

What is Elder Abuse?

Elder abuse is any action or inaction, which causes harm to an older person by a person in a position of trust. The abuser may be a family member, friend, neighbour or someone providing personal or professional services to that individual.

Elder Abuse includes:

  • Physical abuse

  • Financial abuse

  • Emotional abuse

  • Neglect

  • Sexual abuse

What can you do?

There are several options individuals can do if they suspect a senior is being abused. Call or reach out to:

  • 9-1-1 
  • Senior Support Line 1-866-299-1011 or 211 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, in 150 languages)

 How do I request a refund?

Fees may be refunded to a participant upon written request. Complete a form to request a refund (available at all Branches) and submit in Branch prior to the 3rd week of class. 

A doctor's certificate may be required.

Special Event tickets will not be refunded unless the event has been cancelled or is sold out with a waiting list and the ticket can be resold.  

 How do I register for City of Oshawa Programming?

Programming offered at the City of Oshawa is appropriate for all age groups and to qualify as a senior you must be 65 and older. You can register for via the activeOshawa.

OSCC55+ offers programs and services to people 55 and older. All of our programming is exclusive to this age group.

The City of Oshawa provides funding to the Oshawa Senior Community Centres; however we are separate organizations. We also share facility space with Recreation and Culture Services at the Northview Branch and Delpark Homes Branch.

 How do I request a subsidy?

Financial support is available for some OSCC55+ programs.

How do I support my parents or grandparents?
Our Caregiver Support and Services page has a lot of helpful information and tools to assist you.
How do I use the online registration system?
  1. Access the online registration portal.
  2. Click ‘Log In’ in blue bar, top right corner of the screen

New Users:

  • Click ‘Click here if you have forgotten your password, or if you are an existing customer that needs to create an online account.’
  • Enter the email address in the ‘Customers Without Online Accounts’ field. The email address needs to be the SAME as the email you submitted on your membership form at the time you purchased your membership. Not sure which email you submitted? Call our front desk at (905) 576-6712 and we can look up this information.
  • Click ‘Send’ and the system will send you an automated email to create a new password for you to log on. The email may take up to 15 minutes to arrive in your inbox.  
  • Enter your email and password to log into the system.

Returning Registered Users:

  • Once logged in, click the ‘home’ button in the blue bar, top left corner of the screen
  • Scroll through the home page and click on the appropriate section related to your program (i.e. fitness, dance, yoga, workshops, etc.) The icon in each section corresponds to the icon found in the Activity Guide.
  • Once in the appropriate section, scroll down to the bottom of the screen to the ‘Course ID’ box. Type the program code into the Course ID box and click ‘search’. Your program will appear at the bottom of the screen.
  • Click the upper right blue ‘Details’ box within your selected program.
  • Under the second blue bar ‘Book Course’ click the ‘Register’ button on the right hand side. Your program will be placed in your cart.
  • Click ‘continue shopping’ to add more programs to your cart. If complete, click ‘Checkout’ to pay for your programs.
