New Member Information

Welcome to the OSCC55+!

You're just a few clicks away from joining a vibrant, active community of peers, and a wide array of programs and services to access and enjoy. Membership cost is $20 plus HST and is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Are you brand new to OSCC55+ and ready to get started? Follow the steps listed below to purchase your membership through our online registration system. Or, stop by any Branch front desk to sign up in person. Let's get started!

New member instructions for online membership purchase:

Step one: Do you already have an account with us?

Some new members may already have an account online with us. This happens when you have registered for a membership or course at OSCC55+ before, or if you participated in a City of Oshawa Recreation program in the past.

If you already have an account; see Returning Member Information for further instructions.

If you have never had an OSCC55+ membership before, and have never participated in a City of Oshawa Recreation program in the past, then proceed to Step two.

Important: If you are unsure if you have an account, please do not create a new account; call a member of our OSCC55+ Administrative Team at 905-576-6712 extension 2830 for assistance.

Step two: Create your account

Go to register.oscc.ca

  1. On the blue banner at the top of the page click ‘Create New Account' and enter all required information.
  2. Create a password. You will use this password and your email address to sign in online to purchase your membership, courses, workshops, events, etc.
  3. Once all information is entered including the character code, click the blue Create New Account box.
  4. You have now created your account, proceed to Step three.

Please note:

  • If you only have a mobile phone number please enter that phone number in the Home Phone box and the Mobile Phone box.
  • If you do not have an email address you will not be able to proceed; please call 905-576-6712 extension 2830 for assistance.

Step three: Log into your account

  1. Return to register.oscc.ca
  2. Click on ‘Log In' on the right side of the blue banner.
  3. Enter the email associated with your account and password you just created.
  4. Click the blue ‘Log' in box. Once you are logged in, your name will appear on the right hand side of the blue banner.
  5. Proceed to Step four.

Please note:

If you are part of a family group everyone will use the same email address, but each member should have their own unique password. Please call 905-576-6712 extension 2830 for Administration staff assistance if you are sharing an email address with another member.

Step four: Create your membership contract

  1. Click ‘Home' on the left hand side of the blue banner.
  2. Click ‘OSCC55+ Membership' under our logo (just above the running shoe).
  3. Click ‘OSCC55+ Membership under the OSCC55+ Membership box.
  4. Click ‘Create New Contract'.
  5. Click ‘Update Price' box; the Contract Summary information will appear for your review.
  6. Click ‘Add to Checkout' box.
  7. Proceed to Step Five.

Please note:

If you are part of a family group and your name is not in the box beside ‘Contract User', use the drop down arrow to change name to the participant wishing to purchase membership.

Step five: Check out and pay

  1. Click blue ‘Checkout' button.
  2. Click on the circle box beside ‘Agree' stating you have read and agree to the terms of the OSCC55+ Membership Waiver.
  3. Click blue ‘Submit' button.

  • Card Security Code – located on the back of the card for MC, VISA and on the front for AMEX
  1. Click green ‘Process Transaction' button. You will receive an order confirmation and your receipt will be emailed to you.
  2. Proceed to Step six.

Please note:

  • In order to register for courses, events or workshops you must complete your membership transaction in our system first. Once your membership is purchased you can return to register.oscc.ca to sign up for activities.
  • Transactions will appear as a ‘City of Oshawa' purchase.

Step six: Membership purchase complete

Congratulations and welcome! You are now an active member of the OSCC55+!
