You can participate in a variety of OSCC55+ programs using Zoom. See our online schedule below for dates and times of your favourite programs, including our popular hybrid courses! An OSCC55+ membership is required to participate in online recreation programs.

For registered online courses, the OSCC55+ staff team will contact all those pre-registered by email to provide a custom URL to access the course.

Full body workout using light weights and resistance bands. Emphasis on proper body alignment to develop strength, endurance and slow stretching to improve flexibility.

With the use of a chair, you can participate in a yoga class without getting up and down from the ground. Yoga mat, yoga strap (or towel/tie) is recommended.

This class has all the great music and moves of Zumba but you are seated in a chair. You will work up a sweat with the combined strength and resistance training from the movements.

10:10 a.m. - 11:10 a.m. Pilates - Registered Program 

Drawn from therapeutic roots, pilates adapts to any and all body issues and aims to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. Mats are needed as this class is done entirely on the floor. Blocks and bands are recommended.

11:15 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. Pen and Ink - Registered Program 

Work step by step with Dianne using basic pen and ink strokes to add value and contrast to your artwork. 'Winter's Beauty' will be the theme of the projects with line drawings and finished images being provided by email prior to class. Please note this class will be taught on zoom. For students that would like to attend in-branch, the instructor will be zoomed in virtually on a large screen.

Be guided through learning Pen & Ink techniques while creating beautiful and unique projects. First project is Abandoned Cabin in the Snow, second is Hummingbird in Mimosa Tree. 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. Winter Splash and Puddle Watercolours - Registered Program 

This eight-week course presents a supportive opportunity from those who have completed a beginner watercolour course to those who are intermediate painters. Further develop your watercolour painting skills by exploring tonal values, colour mixing, use of texture and shadows while learning more about composition. Participants will have the opportunity to complete a variety of subjects including landscapes, a still life and a floral composition. Choose to use the line drawing provide along with a reference photograph provided each week or create your own drawing from the reference photograph. A list of materials for this course is available when enrolling.
