Acrylic Painting
This course is perfect for the beginner or someone that needs to review the basic elements and principles of art. Each class will cover an important topic and an exercise, working towards a finished painting
Bear Making
Socialize and work with other bear makers. No instructor.
Bridge - Level 1
This program is a continuation of the Club Series and suitable for those who have taken a previous beginner class. It will introduce Overcalls, Takeout Doubles and Stayman.
Bridge - Level 2
Bridge - Level 2
Japanese Bunka embroidery is stitched with a punch needle and various textures of thread and yarn. Create a beautiful picture by using different threads and techniques. (Instructor orders supplies. Cost is approx. $130.00.) 
Creative Writing
Class will include a workshop component and some on-the-spot writing exercises as well as discussion of what different writing approaches can bring to your work in terms of character, plot and so on. Bring your work in progress or start something new in this workshop-based, six-week exploration of story. 
Creative Writing- open studio
Meet and share stories and ideas with other writers.
Learn basic stitches. Bring a 4.5 crochet hook and a ball of wool to first class. 
Drama - Enhancing Memory
Recent studies show that practicing drama/acting can increase brain activity, improve memory and cognitive function, enhance learning ability and more!  Learn in a safe and supportive environment that is fun for everyone!  No experience or memorization required.
Drawing Animal Portraits
Focusing on your furry friends learn how to draw pets and animals. From fur and feathers to collars and composition learn how to draw the textures and features of animals. 
Drawing - Plants/Flowers
Bud to bloom, twig to tree.  Learn how to draw plants and flowers and capture the beauty of the natural world.  Students should bring small photos to class.
Drawing - Level 1
In this introductory course learn the basics of drawing. From sketching, to shading, line and tone to still life and figures you'll learn to draw. 
Drawing - Level 2
In this intermediate class learn more advanced techniques. From light,shadow and reflection to line width and texture you'll learn to draw. 
Drumming For Health
Learn basic rhythms of drumming using djembe drums. Level 2- Learn more complex rhythms and polyrhythms. Explore group improvisation and improve your relational skills.
Would you like to learn French and be able to have a conversation in French? If so, join this class. You will learn the basic of the language and have fun doing it. 
Learn how to research your ancestry through utilizing a computer. You must have basic computer knowledge and access to a computer. Practice outside of class is helpful. 
Learn the basic principles of guitar playing as you learn how to strum the chords to your favorite songs, develop proper playing habits and understand the basics of music theory.
Guitar - Blues Master
Further development of blues guitar skills such as pentatonic scales, major scales and minor scales.  Learn new blues songs by major artists, open tunings and slide guitar.  Advancing rhythm playing and chord structures.
A potpourri of topics: Series of talks on unrelated topics in history, geography & art including topics that were never mentioned in school. Old topics may be discussed. 
Landscape in Pencil Crayon
Learn to create interesting artwork thru pencil crayon, which is now considered the foremost medium in both the US and Canada because of it's simplicity, handling and lasting colour preservation.  This media allows for great portability and practical applications.
Knit and Crochet - All Levels
Learn basic stitches in knitting and crochet as well as reading patterns. Bring a pair of knitting needles size 10 or 4.5 MM, crochet hook and a ball of wool. Volunteer instructor. 
Make-Up Tips
Learn basic make-up application for day and night looks. Learn beauty and self care issues that pertain to maturity and aging and learn tips and techniques to look refreshed and revitalized. 
Oil Painting
Painting and sketching. Northview concentrates on animals, still life and water. John Street: For those who would like to give portraits with oils a try. Specific colour pallet is required.
One Stroke Painting
If you've never painted before, this is the class for you! Teaches Donna Dewberry's technique of one stroke painting. $20 supply cost to instructor for brushes. 
Open Art Studio
Open studio time to work on art projects. No instructor 
Working from photographs of nature and natural resources you will learn the creative fun of pastels. You will experience techniques in shading, perspective and learn to create a three dimensional picture.
Quilters Look Back and Ahead Canada turns 150 on July 1, 2017. Quilts, from 1867 on, still attract quilters. Try Log Cabin designs (templates & designs provided); use provided plaid cottons (plaid designs were made popular by Queen Victoria) for a pillow; try hand quilting & embroidery in a table runner. You choose! Kit fee: $12.00 Quilting "Star Light, Quilts Bright" Create 5-patch (72-degree); 6-patch (60-degree); and 8-patch (45-degree) stars (templates & designs provided). Make 1-5 items, e.g. a centrepiece, cushion, tablerunner or quilt. By student request, everyone will create a sampler of basic hand applique techniques. Kit fee: $12.00. 
Quilting Finished is Better
Join with others as you complete your "WORKS IN PROGRESS". Bring a sewing machine and power cord or finish projects working by hand. No kit fee. 
Quilting - "Q.F.O.s & PHUNKY PHUN!"
Q.F.O.s - "Quilt for Others; Quilt for Oneself".  Use various fabrics to make small or large "crazy" quilts using class templates. Phunky Phun - Create several small, fun items.  If you bring our machine, please bring a power cord.  Kit fee: $10.00

Quilting - Seminole Patchwork & Hand Embroidery
Explore Seminole patchwork with a table runner, handbag or quilt.  Also explore hand embroidery.  Use pearl cotton or wool.  Embellish a cushion or small sampler.  If you bring your own sewing machine, please bring a power cord.  Kit fee: $10.00
Rug Hooking
Learn how to hook as our ancestors did. Course is set up for any level. Beginner kits are available for approximately $35.00; Kit does not include hook. This is not latch hooking. 
Scrapbook Circle
Have you wanted to learn to scrapbook or have you been wanting somewhere to work on your scrapbooking? The solution is the Scrapbook Circle. We are a group of ladies who meet to scrapbook socialize and have fun. 
Sewing Studio
This is a fun and social group! Bring in a project from home or work on one as a group. Supplies will be discussed first day of class. All sewers welcome! 
Speaking Spanish is fun!! Learn the basics to speak, write and read one of the most spoken languages around the world. 
Swedish Weaving
Join us for a rewarding session of Swedish Weaving. Once you learn the basics, the sky is the limit! Imagination carries you to whatever you wish to create. Returning/experienced weavers welcome! Volunteer instructor. 
Learn Ukulele, its easy, portable, lightweight, versatile and fun! Play songs the first day with basic cords, strumming, and fingering. No experience needed. No need to read music. Start from scratch or brush up if you have played before. $3 Kit fee extra first day of class. Ukulele's available to purchase or loan. 
Paint to relax and enjoy a therapeutic, stress free environment. Learn new techniques and develop our skills, where we talk, share our knowledge and paint. 

Understanding colour, harmony and composition using demonstrations each week. Supply list with receipt.

Watercolours Traditional techniques are introduced and taught with impressionistic style from the basics. Learn to paint loose, light, transparent watercolours.

Demonstrations each week of Flowers, Landscape, Still life (painting glass and fabric) and suggestions from the class. Additional paint or brushes will be recommended as needed. 
Learn techniques such as relief, caricature, "in the round" and chip carving. Supplies and tools are extra. 
Woodcarving - Birdcarving
Various birds. Rough cuts sold at first class, must pay instructor. Eyes & pattern included. Experienced carvers can bring own projects. $2.50 for extra materials. 
Step-by-step instruction is given. Start with a rough cut out (sold separately at the first class) and finish a complete carving. 
A meditative form of art using repetitive patterns. It is calming, enjoyable and brings a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
